Iconic Maine Lobster Copper Hair Fork

When one thinks of Maine, one thinks of lighthouses, blueberries, moose, windjammers, and of course, Lobster. This hair fork a fun addition to my collection of lobster jewelry and accessories. It has a larger lobster design, and you can get the hair fork either plain or with a green Tourmaline gemstone. I chose Tourmaline for this piece because that's the Maine gemstone. 

The lobster is copper, the optional gemstone is a 4mm green tourmaline cabochon, and the fork is brass. 

You are purchasing one hair fork.

This fork will be finished to your selected length - either 4 or 4-1/2 inches. The ends are filed at an angle and then rounded smooth. The design portion of the hair fork is about 1-3/8 wide and 1 inch high, so the overall length is 1 inch more than your desired fork length.

The brass curved forks on the plain lobster are about an inch apart at the widest point. The brass straight forks on the tourmaline lobster are 3/4 inch apart.

Please allow a few days for your fork to be finished to length.

The copper is not treated, so you can either let it develop a beautiful copper patina, or you can keep it bright by cleaning it with ketchup and then rinsing with soap and water.

A hair fork, also called chignon pin or french hair pin, is used to secure a hair bun, french twist, or other twisted updo hairstyles.
